Description

WWII British "Brushstroke" camouflage pullover smock. This 4-pocket anorak is made of super soft, lightweight, windproof gabardine fabric. The smock is fitted with an integral drawcord hood, webbing at hem to cinch tight, button tabs on each cuff and reinforced elbows.

Issued to Commonwealth infantry units in 1943 as part of a two-piece smock and trousers suit, and was intended to be worn as an oversuit over top of wool Battledress/field uniform. The pattern of "Brushstroke" camouflage was unique to this uniform. It became popular with the SAS (Special Air Service) and various commando units and was used during the Korean and Indochina Wars.

Good condition. Cuffs are reinforced with German linen/cotton drillach HBT in Marsh/Sumpfsmunster camouflage. There is also a small patch/repair on the right sleeve in the same fabric. A few small stains on the chest by the right chest pocket. It may come out with a spot clean or wash.

Size M
